This mission aims to strengthen our city’s international relations by leveraging the expertise and networks of the diaspora. It focuses on actively facilitating the establishment of new twinning arrangements and developing decentralized cooperation projects with cities abroad. The diaspora will act as a key bridge to identify opportunities, initiate diplomatic and cultural contacts, and support the implementation of mutually beneficial partnerships in key areas such as the economy, culture, education, and the environment.
Impacts/objectifs
Expected outcomes include the establishment of at least 2 new twinning partnerships and 3 decentralized cooperation projects per year, generating enriching cultural exchanges, economic opportunities for local businesses, and knowledge transfer in priority sectors. The mission will directly contribute to increasing the city’s international visibility, attracting new resources, and promoting its heritage, while strengthening ties with the diaspora.

We are seeking diaspora members with proven experience in international relations, diplomacy, partnership development, or project management. Strong language skills (English, Spanish, Arabic, etc.), in-depth knowledge of foreign cultures, and an international professional or institutional network are essential. Contributors will act as facilitators of contacts, advisory experts, and ambassadors of the city, playing an active role in identifying, negotiating, and monitoring cooperation agreements.
Conditions de la mission
The mission is ongoing and involves flexible participation, with more intensive phases during the establishment of new partnerships or the launch of specific projects. Logistical and administrative support will be provided by the city for necessary travel and communication. Contributors are expected to be available for regular meetings (virtual or in-person when relevant) and to represent the city at key events. A minimum commitment of a few hours per week is recommended.
