Description générale
The city of Bamenda faces major challenges related to unplanned urbanization and a lack of basic urban services (waste management, access to drinking water, sanitation). Its technical and institutional capacities in urban planning, engineering, and land management are limited. This mission aims to strengthen the municipality's skills and improve coordination with local stakeholders to structure urban development and guarantee quality essential services for its growing population. The diaspora is invited to contribute its expertise to concrete projects and provide ongoing support.
Impacts/objectifs
1. Improved urban planning and structuring to prevent uncontrolled sprawl in Bamenda.
2. Strengthening the municipality's technical and administrative capacities in urban planning, engineering, and land management.
3. Significant improvement of essential urban services: waste management, access to drinking water, and sanitation infrastructure.
4. Implementation of targeted training programs for municipal staff and development of sustainable institutional partnerships.

Volunteer or project-based commitment. Flexibility for short-term assignments or longer-term support. Ability to work collaboratively with municipal teams and local stakeholders. Fluency in French or English (Bamenda context).
