Its strategic role extends to the markets of ECCAS and Nigeria, thanks to its geographical proximity and its logistics corridors. The city feeds a potential regional market exceeding 250 million combined inhabitants (CEMAC, ECCAS, Nigeria). It hosts the Autonomous Port of Douala, a pivot of regional trade and import-export. In Douala, the childhood and education sector faces an urgent need to rehabilitate public schools. In several districts such as Douala II, III, and IV, many schools suffer from dilapidated infrastructure and overcrowding. Classrooms are often run-down, with damaged roofs and a lack of school furniture. Some schools, such as those in Bonabéri, have benefited from partial renovations, but the needs far exceed the interventions carried out. Other establishments such as Youpwe have seen limited improvements, confirming a still fragmented approach. The Bali public school illustrates the need for educational modernization with digital and inclusive spaces. In areas such as Mboppi, occasional works have improved some infrastructure, but water and hygiene problems persist. Peripheral schools remain the most affected by overcrowding and the deterioration of learning conditions.
View details →This program aims to mobilize the diaspora to support the renovation, construction, and equipping of classrooms in all public schools across Douala's six districts. In collaboration with the district municipalities, the project plans to: rehabilitate dilapidated buildings, build new classrooms according to needs, supply desk-benches, educational kits, and digital equipment, and improve learning conditions. The diaspora can contribute to funding, technical expertise, and the mobilization of material resources.

The mission aims to mobilize experts from the diaspora to design and deliver inclusive training modules for the blind, deaf people, and people living with a motor disability. The training covers cooking, sewing, beauty, and IT, adopting accessible methods such as multisensory pedagogy, tactile materials, subtitled or sign-language video content, adapted software, and ergonomic tools. The experts will also contribute to the creation of educational frameworks and the training of local trainers.
